Buddy loved the open road. So the Hartmans had him neutered and microchipped in 2005. Then in 2007 their house burned down in the fires of San Diego County. Buddy disappeared, and they notified the County of San Diego Department of Animal Services.

Buddy arrived at the shelter 7 years later. The Hartmans had moved to Oklahoma but were visiting their son in San Diego when the call came in. Now Buddy is back home again, thanks to a $10 microchip.
